Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Financial Services & Real Estate and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 1.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which rose 2.70% or 0.490 points to trade at 18.635 at the close. Inditex (MC:ITX) added 2.13% or 0.600 points to end at 28.800 and Enagas (MC:ENAG) was up 2.08% or 0.545 points to 26.810 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Int.Airl.Grp (MC:ICAG), which lost 0.74% or 0.050 points to trade at 6.660 in late trade. Bankia (MC:BKIA) declined 0.52% or 0.004 points to end at 0.766 and Indra A (MC:IDR) shed 0.39% or 0.038 points to 9.789.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 153 to 37 and 21 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.28% or 3.55 to $1251.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.16% or 0.08 to hit $48.59 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $48.80 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.1210, while EUR/GBP rose 0.78% to 0.7728.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 95.42.
