Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Building & Construction, Consumer Goods and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.43% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which rose 4.65% or 0.274 points to trade at 6.170 at the close. B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) added 2.59% or 0.031 points to end at 1.229 and Bankia (MC:BKIA) was up 2.50% or 0.019 points to 0.779 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Amadeus IT (MC:AMA), which lost 1.14% or 0.505 points to trade at 43.810 in late trade. Enagas (MC:ENAG) declined 0.71% or 0.185 points to end at 26.035 and Mapfre (MC:MAP) shed 0.57% or 0.015 points to 2.600.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 116 to 79 and 19 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.19% or 2.35 to $1265.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.14% or 0.07 to hit $50.70 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.49% or 0.25 to trade at $51.63 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.56% to 1.0867, while EUR/GBP fell 0.28% to 0.8894.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.47% at 98.75.
