Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Financial Services & Real Estate and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Bankinter (MC:BKT), which rose 1.57% or 0.099 points to trade at 6.419 at the close. Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) added 1.55% or 0.086 points to end at 5.621 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) was up 1.52% or 0.175 points to 11.655 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which lost 1.59% or 0.170 points to trade at 10.485 in late trade. International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (MC:ICAG) declined 1.08% or 0.049 points to end at 4.503 and Ferrovial (MC:FER) shed 1.06% or 0.200 points to 18.700.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 128 to 58 and 26 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 2.74% or 35.95 to $1276.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.33% or 0.16 to hit $48.97 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.67% or 0.34 to trade at $51.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.1194, while EUR/GBP rose 0.63% to 0.8789.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.51% at 96.14.
