Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 1.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Indra A (MC:IDR), which rose 4.50% or 0.490 points to trade at 11.380 at the close. Bankinter (MC:BKT) added 3.75% or 0.316 points to end at 8.750 and B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) was up 3.25% or 0.048 points to 1.508 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE), which lost 1.60% or 0.420 points to trade at 25.850 in late trade. Acciona (MC:ANA) declined 0.86% or 0.620 points to end at 71.260 and Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) shed 0.81% or 0.064 points to 7.860.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 144 to 48 and 11 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.13% or 1.70 to $1304.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.52% or 0.34 to hit $66.08 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $76.43 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1784, while EUR/GBP rose 0.36% to 0.8810.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 93.58.
