Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Financial Services & Real Estate and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 1.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (MC:GRLS), which rose 9.56% or 2.235 points to trade at 25.615 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) added 4.02% or 0.855 points to end at 22.125 and Cie Automotive (MC:CIEA) was up 3.37% or 0.740 points to 22.720 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bankia SA (MC:BKIA), which lost 2.97% or 0.083 points to trade at 2.716 in late trade. Acerinox (MC:ACX) declined 1.37% or 0.139 points to end at 9.996 and Ferrovial (MC:FER) shed 1.37% or 0.245 points to 17.655.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 127 to 53 and 9 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.12% or 1.50 to $1231.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.59% or 0.40 to hit $67.19 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.23% or 0.18 to trade at $77.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.17% to 1.1383, while EUR/GBP rose 0.03% to 0.8891.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 96.40.
