Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Building & Construction, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.81%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which rose 9.90% or 0.912 points to trade at 10.125 at the close. Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) added 4.87% or 0.454 points to end at 9.778 and Repsol (MC:REP) was up 1.87% or 0.280 points to 15.265 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Acciona (MC:ANA), which lost 0.94% or 0.640 points to trade at 67.480 in late trade. Merlin Properties SA (MC:MRL) declined 0.58% or 0.07 points to end at 11.05 and Bankia SA (MC:BKIA) shed 0.43% or 0.017 points to 3.901.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 125 to 51 and 25 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.09% or 1.20 to $1295.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.24% or 0.14 to hit $57.97 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.25% or 0.16 to trade at $63.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.1884, while EUR/GBP rose 0.52% to 0.8978.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 93.04.
