Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Services and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.79%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which rose 10.62% or 0.220 points to trade at 2.292 at the close. Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) added 6.32% or 1.600 points to end at 26.900 and Telefonica (MC:TEF) was up 3.50% or 0.258 points to 7.629 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bankinter (MC:BKT), which lost 4.83% or 0.412 points to trade at 8.124 in late trade. Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) declined 2.35% or 0.160 points to end at 6.660 and ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (MC:ACS) shed 1.04% or 0.390 points to 37.210.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 107 to 78 and 13 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.45% or 5.50 to $1226.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.65% or 0.45 to hit $69.75 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.83% or 0.61 to trade at $74.54 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.54% to 1.1665, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8886.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 94.41.
