Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Building & Construction and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.72%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were B. Sabadell (MC:SABE), which rose 3.02% or 0.049 points to trade at 1.655 at the close. Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) added 2.42% or 0.099 points to end at 4.200 and ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) was up 1.86% or 0.550 points to 30.120 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Inditex (MC:ITX), which lost 1.02% or 0.280 points to trade at 27.300 in late trade. Gas Natural (MC:GAS) declined 0.90% or 0.200 points to end at 22.020 and Melia Hotels (MC:MEL) shed 0.68% or 0.080 points to 11.720.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 112 to 70 and 15 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.09% or 1.10 to $1292.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.33% or 0.24 to hit $72.59 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.87% or 0.69 to trade at $79.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1784, while EUR/GBP fell 0.13% to 0.8771.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 93.47.
