Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Building & Construction, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which rose 15.97% or 0.294 points to trade at 2.135 at the close. Ferrovial (MC:FER) added 2.57% or 0.450 points to end at 17.970 and ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (MC:ACS) was up 1.98% or 0.720 points to 37.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG), which lost 2.47% or 0.190 points to trade at 7.494 in late trade. Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) declined 0.20% or 0.140 points to end at 71.500 and Melia Hotels (MC:MEL) shed 0.18% or 0.020 points to 11.180.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.11% or 1.40 to $1221.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.29% or 0.20 to hit $68.69 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.05% or 0.04 to trade at $73.25 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.1557, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8896.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 95.13.
