Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Building & Construction and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG), which rose 4.06% or 0.294 points to trade at 7.530 at the close. Gas Natural (MC:GAS) added 3.48% or 0.670 points to end at 19.920 and ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) was up 3.30% or 0.895 points to 27.990 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Red Electrica Corporacion SA (MC:REE), which lost 1.42% or 0.265 points to trade at 18.445 in late trade. ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (MC:ACS) declined 1.12% or 0.365 points to end at 32.260 and Iberdrola (MC:IBE) shed 0.88% or 0.057 points to 6.403.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 130 to 50 and 13 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.31% or 4.00 to $1313.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.20% or 0.12 to hit $60.30 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.54% or 0.36 to trade at $66.51 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.36% to 1.2050, while EUR/GBP fell 0.28% to 0.8866.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.42% at 91.60.
