Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Financial Services & Real Estate and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which rose 3.29% or 0.845 points to trade at 26.540 at the close. Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) added 2.20% or 0.046 points to end at 2.139 and Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) was up 2.06% or 1.500 points to 74.400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Enagas (MC:ENAG), which lost 1.93% or 0.470 points to trade at 23.900 in late trade. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) declined 0.97% or 0.250 points to end at 25.420 and Red Electrica Corporacion SA (MC:REE) shed 0.74% or 0.135 points to 18.040.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 96 to 87 and 22 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.06% or 0.70 to $1226.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.30% or 0.20 to hit $67.36 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.75% or 0.54 to trade at $72.70 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.01% to 1.1659, while EUR/GBP rose 0.34% to 0.8922.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 94.75.
