Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Indra A (MC:IDR), which rose 3.27% or 0.330 points to trade at 10.410 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) added 3.06% or 0.755 points to end at 25.460 and Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) was up 2.10% or 1.460 points to 71.020 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which lost 2.06% or 0.054 points to trade at 2.570 in late trade. Bankia SA (MC:BKIA) declined 1.10% or 0.035 points to end at 3.160 and Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) shed 0.94% or 0.260 points to 27.320.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 98 to 74 and 29 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.25% or 3.10 to $1247.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.21% or 0.85 to hit $69.53 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.05% or 0.04 to trade at $73.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1683, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.8836.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 94.48.
