Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Caixabank SA (MC:CABK), which rose 3.32% or 0.119 points to trade at 3.710 at the close. BBVA (MC:BBVA) added 1.81% or 0.108 points to end at 6.074 and B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) was up 1.74% or 0.025 points to 1.435 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which lost 6.61% or 0.512 points to trade at 7.230 in late trade. Cie Automotive (MC:CIEA) declined 3.36% or 0.880 points to end at 25.280 and Inditex (MC:ITX) shed 0.71% or 0.210 points to 29.260.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 104 to 73 and 27 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.26% or 3.30 to $1254.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.91% or 0.67 to hit $74.12 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.93% or 1.50 to trade at $79.11 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.94% to 1.1677, while EUR/GBP rose 0.03% to 0.8849.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.75% at 94.29.
