Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Goods and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Amadeus IT (MC:AMA), which rose 1.67% or 0.890 points to trade at 54.190 at the close. Bankinter (MC:BKT) added 1.62% or 0.127 points to end at 7.948 and Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) was up 1.45% or 0.062 points to 4.340 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which lost 2.49% or 0.305 points to trade at 11.925 in late trade. Acerinox (MC:ACX) declined 1.75% or 0.215 points to end at 12.070 and Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) shed 1.65% or 0.157 points to 9.343.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 109 to 64 and 23 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.47% or 6.25 to $1326.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.76% or 0.85 to hit $49.08 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.29% or 0.70 to trade at $54.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.69% to 1.1883, while EUR/GBP fell 0.13% to 0.8997.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.62% at 92.46.
