Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Telecoms & IT and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (MC:ACS), which rose 2.34% or 0.820 points to trade at 35.840 at the close. Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) added 2.00% or 0.570 points to end at 29.070 and Acciona (MC:ANA) was up 1.81% or 1.320 points to 74.200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cie Automotive (MC:CIEA), which lost 3.27% or 0.820 points to trade at 24.280 in late trade. Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) declined 1.41% or 0.092 points to end at 6.446 and Banco Santander (MC:SAN) shed 1.08% or 0.048 points to 4.353.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 97 to 62 and 31 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.19% or 2.30 to $1202.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.11% or 2.05 to hit $67.89 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.75% or 2.00 to trade at $74.63 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1593, while EUR/GBP rose 0.10% to 0.8976.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 95.03.
