Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.27% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG), which rose 3.80% or 0.292 points to trade at 7.986 at the close. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) added 2.97% or 0.720 points to end at 24.990 and B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) was up 1.61% or 0.027 points to 1.703 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Red Electrica Corporacion SA (MC:REE), which lost 0.80% or 0.140 points to trade at 17.375 in late trade. Repsol (MC:REP) declined 0.71% or 0.115 points to end at 16.130 and Enagas (MC:ENAG) shed 0.66% or 0.160 points to 24.190.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 94 to 90 and 23 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.03% or 0.40 to $1314.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.77% or 1.96 to hit $68.77 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 2.23% or 1.70 to trade at $74.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.1885, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.8768.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 92.83.
