Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Financial Services & Real Estate and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.24% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which rose 2.49% or 0.735 points to trade at 30.250 at the close. Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) added 2.20% or 0.50 points to end at 23.25 and ACS Actividades de Construccion y Servicios SA (MC:ACS) was up 1.30% or 0.470 points to 36.590 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which lost 1.84% or 0.260 points to trade at 13.840 in late trade. Acciona (MC:ANA) declined 1.73% or 1.180 points to end at 67.140 and Merlin Properties SA (MC:MRL) shed 1.35% or 0.17 points to 12.78.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 98 to 73 and 30 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.06% or 0.80 to $1321.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.50% or 0.36 to hit $71.00 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.17% or 0.13 to trade at $77.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1955, while EUR/GBP rose 0.05% to 0.8816.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 92.33.
