Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Financial Services & Real Estate and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.23% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which rose 3.94% or 0.535 points to trade at 14.115 at the close. Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) added 2.75% or 0.710 points to end at 26.540 and Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) was up 2.31% or 0.530 points to 23.510 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX), which lost 3.72% or 0.87 points to trade at 22.49 in late trade. Ferrovial (MC:FER) declined 1.03% or 0.185 points to end at 17.710 and Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) shed 0.88% or 0.034 points to 3.830.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 112 to 68 and 31 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.42% or 5.50 to $1323.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.09% or 0.06 to hit $68.25 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.23% or 0.17 to trade at $74.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.04% to 1.2109, while EUR/GBP rose 1.01% to 0.8784.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 91.42.
