Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Building & Construction, Financial Services & Real Estate and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which rose 2.29% or 0.260 points to trade at 11.635 at the close. B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) added 1.84% or 0.027 points to end at 1.496 and International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG) was up 1.61% or 0.122 points to 7.678 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which lost 4.75% or 0.348 points to trade at 6.980 in late trade. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) declined 2.23% or 0.580 points to end at 25.450 and Red Electrica Corporacion SA (MC:REE) shed 1.09% or 0.200 points to 18.130.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 110 to 69 and 20 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.39% or 4.90 to $1260.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.49% or 0.36 to hit $73.44 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.01% or 0.78 to trade at $77.89 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.1745, while EUR/GBP rose 0.49% to 0.8882.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 93.84.
