Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5), which rose 1.83% or 0.112 points to trade at 6.238 at the close. Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) added 1.81% or 0.014 points to end at 0.800 and Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) was up 1.67% or 0.37 points to 22.59 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which lost 3.11% or 0.640 points to trade at 19.950 in late trade. Repsol (MC:REP) declined 2.62% or 0.400 points to end at 14.860 and Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) shed 1.54% or 0.980 points to 62.520.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 88 to 86 and 18 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.36% or 4.40 to $1223.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 6.44% or 3.52 to hit $51.11 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 5.56% or 3.48 to trade at $59.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.61% to 1.1334, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8843.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 96.822.
