Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (MC:GAM), which rose 4.97% or 0.570 points to trade at 12.035 at the close. Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) added 2.47% or 0.56 points to end at 23.25 and Enagas (MC:ENAG) was up 1.87% or 0.440 points to 23.970 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS), which lost 1.99% or 0.510 points to trade at 25.160 in late trade. Cie Automotive (MC:CIEA) declined 1.97% or 0.540 points to end at 26.900 and Mapfre (MC:MAP) shed 1.52% or 0.040 points to 2.593.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 92 to 83 and 21 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.42% or 5.20 to $1229.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $68.22 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.28% or 0.20 to trade at $72.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.51% to 1.1702, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8928.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.60% at 94.41.
