Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Manufacturing, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia added 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN), which rose 5.73% or 42.4 points to trade at 783.0 at the close. MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) added 5.08% or 26.00 points to end at 538.00 and NMTP (MCX:NMTP) was up 3.55% or 0.2300 points to 6.7000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL), which lost 3.92% or 0.830 points to trade at 20.370 in late trade. Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) declined 2.82% or 0.1090 points to end at 3.7600 and Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) shed 2.16% or 12.00 points to 543.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 122 to 80 and 19 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.82% to 29.440.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.27% or 3.20 to $1201.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.77% or 0.52 to hit $67.25 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.41% or 0.31 to trade at $76.19 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.88% to 69.8671, while EUR/RUB rose 0.31% to 80.7519.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 95.34.
