Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX gained 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS), which rose 8.77% or 1.100 points to trade at 13.645 at the close. Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) added 3.88% or 7.50 points to end at 200.75 and Moskovskaya Birzha OAO (MCX:MOEX) was up 3.56% or 3.82 points to 111.22 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SG mechel (MCX:MTLR), which lost 3.28% or 5.55 points to trade at 163.45 in late trade. VTB (MCX:VTBR) declined 2.48% or 0.0015 points to end at 0.0601 and FSK EES (MCX:FEES) shed 1.82% or 0.0032 points to 0.1729.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 123 to 89 and 21 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 1.89% to 20.290.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.98% or 13.08 to $1343.48 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.11% or 1.47 to hit $48.76 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 2.12% or 1.11 to trade at $53.45 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.60% to 57.4892, while EUR/RUB fell 0.48% to 68.5000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.36% at 92.24.
