Rumble Resources Ltd (ASX:RTR, OTC:RTRFF) has recruited seasoned mining executive Peter Harold as managing director and chief executive officer to lead the company’s critical expansion and enhancement of the emerging tier one Earaheedy Zinc-Lead-Silver Project in Western Australia.

Harold’s appointment takes effect from February 12 next year.

Peter Venn, the current interim managing director, will transition into the position of technical director, where he will work closely with Harold to deliver the company's organic growth model through exploration and development efforts.

Highly experienced

With a career spanning three decades in strategic, commercial and corporate experience in the minerals industry, Harold, a process engineer by profession, was last at Poseidon Nickel Ltd (ASX:POS, OTC:PSDNF), where he spent 3.5 years, and is currently transitioning to the role of non-executive chair.

During his tenure there, he played a pivotal role in securing significant equity investments, enabling the completion of the bankable feasibility studies for the Black Swan Nickel Project and the Windarra Gold Tailings Project.

Additionally, these funds supported extensive resource drilling and exploration activities as well as the Black Swan restart pre-works.

His previous experience includes serving as the managing director of Panoramic Resources Ltd (ASX:PAN), a company he co-founded with a $3 million initial public offering in 2001.

During his time at Panoramic, he successfully navigated the financing and development of the Savannah Nickel-Copper-Cobalt Mine in the Kimberley region of northern Western Australia, and the acquisition and restart of the Lanfranchi Nickel Project near Kambalda in the early 2000s.

Under his leadership, the company achieved a market capitalisation of $1.2 billion in 2007.

Not just a corporate figure

Harold, currently the non-executive chairman of Rare Foods Australia Ltd, is deeply committed to supporting the wellbeing of young people, having spent nine years on the board of Youth Focus, five of which he served as chair.

Youth Focus is an organisation dedicated to providing essential services and educational programs aimed at reducing symptoms associated with suicide, depression, anxiety and self-harm, while fostering long-term mental well-being among young individuals.

Keen to return to zinc prospecting

“I was attracted to Rumble by the combination of the commodity mix, size of the existing resource at Earaheedy, the exceptional growth potential of the project, and the board and management team,” Harold said on his appointment.

“I started my career in mining on the Golden Grove zinc/copper project and have always wanted to get back into zinc as it will play a vital role globally in our transition to a renewable future.

“I’m looking forward to working with the Rumble team to unlock the full value potential of Earaheedy and Rumble’s other projects.”

The person for the job

Venn added: “We are absolutely delighted to have secured someone of Peter’s capability and regard in the mining industry.

“His previous experience and success in building companies from early-stage exploration through development to production is invaluable.

“We are looking forward to the strong leadership and vision that Peter will bring to help grow and motivate our young team, and ultimately unlock the full value of our flagship Earaheedy Zinc-Lead-Silver Project for all Rumble stakeholders.”
