QMines Ltd (ASX:QML) has identified copper and zinc mineralisation at Artillery Road prospect of the Mt Chalmers Copper and Gold Project in Queensland, where the company completed 13 reverse circulation (RC) drill holes over 2,373 metres.
Best results include 15 metres at 1.01% copper equivalent from 219 metres, with a higher-grade component of 5 metres at 1.46% copper equivalent.
This equivalent copper result includes several precious and base metal elements, with individual grades of 2.43 g/t gold, 4.9 g/t silver, 1.02% copper, 0.12% lead and 5.12% zinc.
Multiple commodities over large area
“These drilling results confirm the prospectivity of the large base metal system discovered at Artillery Road,” QMines managing director Andrew Sparkes said.
“Not only are the results significant, but the metal zoning paints an exciting picture of multiple commodities over a large area.
“We are thrilled to be on the ground at this early stage greenfields discovery and look forward to unlocking its full potential for our shareholders.”
QMines’s drilling also revealed that copper mineralisation at Artillery Road increases in copper grades to the east, while zinc grades improve to the west.
The company intends to follow up these latest results with more drilling, intending to test a large copper target in the southeast and zinc target in the northwest.
