Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 1.41% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP Renovaveis (LISBON:EDPRu), which rose 0.94% or 0.0540 points to trade at 5.8040 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI) added 0.44% or 0.0040 points to end at 0.9150 and EDP (LISBON:EDP) was up 0.38% or 0.0120 points to 3.1710 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP), which fell 7.56% or 0.0034 points to trade at 0.0416 at the close. Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA) declined 6.09% or 0.1180 points to end at 1.8200 and Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA) was down 5.24% or 0.0140 points to 0.2530.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 39 to 15.
Shares in Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP) fell to 5-year lows; losing 7.56% or 0.0034 to 0.0416. Shares in Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA) fell to 52-week lows; falling 6.09% or 0.1180 to 1.8200.
Brent oil for November delivery was up 2.12% or 1.00 to $48.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.18% or 0.97 to hit $45.40 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.11% or 1.20 to trade at $1130.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.15% to 1.1261, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.7428.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.16% at 95.99.
