Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 2.53%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 6.20% or 0.0030 points to trade at 0.0514 at the close. Meanwhile, Banif SA (LS:BANIF) added 4.17% or 0.0001 points to end at 0.0025 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was up 4.02% or 0.2870 points to 7.4270 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Semapa (LS:SEM), which fell 0.50% or 0.0650 points to trade at 12.8800 at the close. Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA) added 0.36% or 0.0020 points to end at 0.5520 and Portucel (LS:PTI) was up 0.74% or 0.0280 points to 3.8020.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 43 to 7 and 3 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for January delivery was down 1.65% or 0.73 to $43.83 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.08% or 0.87 to hit $40.87 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.40% or 15.20 to trade at $1068.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.37% to 1.0648, while EUR/GBP fell 0.50% to 0.6995.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.23% at 99.70.
