Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Utilities and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 1.76%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI), which rose 5.99% or 0.0510 points to trade at 0.9020 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (LISBON:GALP) added 3.99% or 0.3540 points to end at 9.2310 and EDP Renovaveis (LISBON:EDPRu) was up 2.52% or 0.1470 points to 5.9700 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA), which unchanged 0.43% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.69 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA) declined 0.35% or 0.0010 points to end at 0.2830 and J. Martins SGPS (LISBON:JMT) was down 0.04% or 0.0050 points to 12.2850.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 40 to 13 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) unchanged to 52-week lows; unchanged 0.43% or 0.00 to 0.69.
Brent oil for November delivery was up 4.09% or 1.96 to $49.70 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 5.52% or 2.46 to hit $47.05 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.87% or 20.60 to trade at $1123.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.39% to 1.1314, while EUR/GBP fell 0.48% to 0.7306.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.43% at 95.35.
