Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.22%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 15.13% or 0.0460 points to trade at 0.3500 at the close. Meanwhile, Portucel (LS:PTI) added 4.53% or 0.1470 points to end at 3.3940 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) was up 2.57% or 0.0270 points to 1.0790 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banif SA (LS:BANIF), which fell 2.70% or 0.0001 points to trade at 0.0036 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) declined 1.43% or 0.1390 points to end at 9.6070 and EDP (LS:EDP) was down 1.31% or 0.0440 points to 3.3200.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 25 to 24 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banif SA (LS:BANIF) fell to all time lows; down 2.70% or 0.0001 to 0.0036.
Brent oil for December delivery was down 0.26% or 0.13 to $49.56 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.56% or 0.26 to hit $46.40 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.97% or 11.30 to trade at $1176.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.53% to 1.1440, while EUR/GBP fell 0.76% to 0.7405.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.60% at 94.24.
