Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Utilities and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 1.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS), which rose 1.04% or 0.0560 points to trade at 5.4160 at the close. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) added 0.41% or 0.0030 points to end at 0.7380 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was up 0.35% or 0.0030 points to 0.8590 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 11.34% or 0.1181 points to trade at 0.9231 in late trade. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) declined 3.06% or 0.2000 points to end at 6.3300 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) shed 2.62% or 0.0060 points to 0.2230.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 23 to 11 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was down 1.22% or 0.67 to $54.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.02% or 0.53 to hit $51.43 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.13% or 1.55 to trade at $1183.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.0553, while EUR/GBP fell 0.14% to 0.8684.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 102.06.
