Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 1.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 1.67% or 0.0040 points to trade at 0.2440 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 0.46% or 0.040 points to end at 8.700 and REN (LS:RENE) was up 0.39% or 0.0100 points to 2.5590 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which lost 3.60% or 0.0590 points to trade at 1.5800 in late trade. Sonae (LS:YSO) declined 2.64% or 0.0180 points to end at 0.6630 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) shed 2.60% or 0.0004 points to 0.0150.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 35 to 8 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 3.32% or 1.59 to $46.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 3.35% or 1.54 to hit $44.39 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.06% or 14.25 to trade at $1329.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.36% to 1.1214, while EUR/GBP fell 0.67% to 0.8614.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.21% at 95.41.
