Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.94%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 4.55% or 0.0310 points to trade at 0.7130 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 2.17% or 0.0030 points to end at 0.1410 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was up 0.15% or 0.0120 points to 7.8510 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 5.61% or 0.0021 points to trade at 0.0353 in late trade. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 4.06% or 0.1540 points to end at 3.6400 and REN (LS:RENE) shed 3.44% or 0.0970 points to 2.7230.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 29 to 16 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was up 0.30% or 0.13 to $43.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.62% or 0.26 to hit $41.45 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.08% or 1.00 to trade at $1233.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.30% to 1.1318, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.7930.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.24% at 94.45.
