Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Technology and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which rose 0.76% or 0.0240 points to trade at 3.1770 at the close. REN (LS:RENE) added 0.68% or 0.0180 points to end at 2.6620 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was up 0.56% or 0.0100 points to 1.7800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 2.96% or 0.0370 points to trade at 1.2130 in late trade. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) declined 1.24% or 0.0760 points to end at 6.0290 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) shed 1.12% or 0.1400 points to 12.3500.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 34 to 20 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was down 3.57% or 1.81 to $48.87 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 3.29% or 1.60 to hit $47.10 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.07% or 0.85 to trade at $1275.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.11% to 1.0974, while EUR/GBP fell 0.47% to 0.8974.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 98.37.
