Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which rose 4.38% or 0.399 points to trade at 9.500 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 3.63% or 0.0650 points to end at 1.8550 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 1.30% or 0.0002 points to 0.0156 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which lost 2.27% or 0.1370 points to trade at 5.9000 in late trade. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) declined 1.68% or 0.0990 points to end at 5.7910 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) shed 1.60% or 0.2600 points to 15.9600.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 23 to 21 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 1.17% or 0.61 to $51.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.29% or 0.65 to hit $49.70 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.12% or 1.55 to trade at $1257.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.19% to 1.0993, while EUR/GBP rose 0.18% to 0.9019.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.17% at 97.91.
