Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae (LS:YSO), which rose 1.40% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.7960 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 1.35% or 0.0780 points to end at 5.8580 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was up 0.57% or 0.0850 points to 14.9050 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 6.15% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.1680 in late trade. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) declined 1.89% or 0.2350 points to end at 12.2150 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) shed 1.11% or 0.090 points to 8.038.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 30 to 20 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was down 3.74% or 1.84 to $47.37 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 3.95% or 1.86 to hit $45.22 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.36% or 4.30 to trade at $1186.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.17% to 1.0632, while EUR/GBP fell 0.53% to 0.8506.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 101.11.
