Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 9.71% or 0.0300 points to trade at 0.3390 at the close. EDP (LS:EDP) added 2.91% or 0.0780 points to end at 2.7630 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) was up 2.57% or 0.228 points to 9.096 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 7.01% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.1460 in late trade. Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) declined 6.58% or 0.0740 points to end at 1.0500 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) shed 1.50% or 0.0520 points to 3.4100.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 20 to 17 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was up 0.47% or 0.26 to $55.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.48% or 0.25 to hit $52.42 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.65% or 8.05 to trade at $1244.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.19% to 1.0699, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8540.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 100.13.
