Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 1.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA), which rose 2.41% or 0.070 points to trade at 2.980 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) added 2.05% or 0.3400 points to end at 16.9200 and Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) was up 0.85% or 0.100 points to 11.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 4.91% or 0.0115 points to trade at 0.2225 in late trade. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 4.34% or 0.2050 points to end at 4.5200 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) shed 3.68% or 0.1400 points to 3.6600.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 23 to 9 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was down 1.25% or 0.82 to $64.69 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.36% or 0.84 to hit $60.95 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.49% or 6.50 to trade at $1321.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.2245, while EUR/GBP fell 0.36% to 0.8804.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 90.20.
