Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS), which rose 1.35% or 0.0710 points to trade at 5.3410 at the close. EDP (LS:EDP) added 1.11% or 0.0330 points to end at 3.0030 and Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) was up 1.01% or 0.115 points to 11.515 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 7.10% or 0.0260 points to trade at 0.3400 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 1.76% or 0.0580 points to end at 3.2300 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) shed 1.56% or 0.0820 points to 5.1630.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 16 to 15 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was down 0.37% or 0.23 to $61.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.57% or 0.32 to hit $55.38 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.37% or 4.71 to trade at $1278.19 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.01% to 1.1798, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.8953.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 93.74.
