Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR), which rose 2.26% or 0.1850 points to trade at 8.3550 at the close. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) added 1.70% or 0.0800 points to end at 4.7940 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was up 1.17% or 0.0340 points to 2.9340 in late trade.
Biggest losers included The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR), which lost 2.76% or 0.1650 points to trade at 5.8200 in late trade. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 1.70% or 0.1500 points to end at 8.6800 and Semapa (LS:SEM) shed 1.65% or 0.4000 points to 23.8000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 17 to 17 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 0.85% or 0.65 to $76.09 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $66.61 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.48% or 6.30 to trade at $1307.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.36% to 1.1631, while EUR/GBP fell 0.79% to 0.8746.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.03% at 94.52.
