Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 1.66% or 0.0600 points to trade at 3.6780 at the close. EDP (LS:EDP) added 0.98% or 0.0280 points to end at 2.8970 and REN (LS:RENE) was up 0.61% or 0.0150 points to 2.4640 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which lost 3.04% or 0.330 points to trade at 10.520 in late trade. Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) declined 1.54% or 0.185 points to end at 11.800 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) shed 1.34% or 0.0710 points to 5.2220.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 28 to 11 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was down 0.86% or 0.57 to $65.89 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.73% or 0.44 to hit $59.53 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.26% or 3.30 to trade at $1290.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1898, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.8880.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 92.60.
