Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 2.76% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR), which rose 10.10% or 0.6330 points to trade at 6.9000 at the close. EDP (LS:EDP) added 4.16% or 0.1220 points to end at 3.0550 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 2.88% or 0.0052 points to 0.1856 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Montepio (LS:MPIO), which lost 2.10% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.420 in late trade. Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) declined 1.19% or 0.036 points to end at 2.981 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) shed 0.53% or 0.0020 points to 0.3780.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 29 to 11 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was up 1.57% or 0.80 to $51.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.84% or 0.88 to hit $48.61 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.08% or 0.95 to trade at $1254.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.0840, while EUR/GBP rose 0.35% to 0.8679.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 99.22.
