Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials, Financials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 1.68% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 16.95% or 0.0400 points to trade at 0.2760 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 9.21% or 0.2150 points to end at 2.5490 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was up 7.46% or 0.3910 points to 5.6300 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which lost 1.51% or 0.2150 points to trade at 14.0550 in late trade. Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) declined 0.25% or 0.008 points to end at 3.180 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) 0.00% or 0.000 points to 11.000.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 24 to 12 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was down 0.78% or 0.40 to $51.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.98% or 0.48 to hit $48.36 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.08% or 1.02 to trade at $1256.52 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.10% to 1.0909, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8443.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 98.97.
