Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Basic Materials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.67%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were REN (LS:RENE), which rose 1.72% or 0.0450 points to trade at 2.6660 at the close. EDP (LS:EDP) added 1.58% or 0.0490 points to end at 3.1530 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was up 1.45% or 0.1600 points to 11.2100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR), which lost 3.31% or 0.1030 points to trade at 3.0120 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 2.54% or 0.0460 points to end at 1.7620 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) shed 0.30% or 0.0020 points to 0.6730.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 33 to 15 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was down 3.36% or 1.59 to $45.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.90% or 1.33 to hit $44.59 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.31% or 4.00 to trade at $1294.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.58% to 1.1521, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.7855.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.42% at 92.63.
