Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR), which rose 2.02% or 0.0560 points to trade at 2.8280 at the close. Semapa (LS:SEM) added 1.75% or 0.1900 points to end at 11.0250 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was up 1.69% or 0.0030 points to 0.1800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which lost 0.94% or 0.0160 points to trade at 1.6870 in late trade. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) declined 0.30% or 0.0170 points to end at 5.7200 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) shed 0.12% or 0.0150 points to 12.5350.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 28 to 13 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 1.80% or 0.83 to $45.37 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.79% or 0.80 to hit $43.95 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.59% or 7.85 to trade at $1323.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.55% to 1.0965, while EUR/GBP rose 0.46% to 0.8371.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.59% at 97.51.
