Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.45% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which rose 2.40% or 0.1300 points to trade at 5.5480 at the close. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) added 1.32% or 0.0720 points to end at 5.5150 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was up 1.18% or 0.0510 points to 4.3910 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA), which lost 1.85% or 0.061 points to trade at 3.239 in late trade. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) declined 0.91% or 0.0080 points to end at 0.8740 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) shed 0.90% or 0.1600 points to 17.5600.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 23 to 14 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was up 0.79% or 0.40 to $51.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.18% or 0.57 to hit $48.89 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.69% or 8.81 to trade at $1263.19 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.34% to 1.1206, while EUR/GBP fell 0.29% to 0.8699.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 97.18.
