Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Industrials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which rose 2.72% or 0.3350 points to trade at 12.6650 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 2.09% or 0.0040 points to end at 0.1950 and EDP (LS:EDP) was up 1.67% or 0.0450 points to 2.7350 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which lost 0.89% or 0.0150 points to trade at 1.6660 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 0.72% or 0.0090 points to end at 1.2400 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) shed 0.70% or 0.0390 points to 5.5220.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 21 to 19 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was up 4.55% or 2.13 to $48.99 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 4.36% or 2.02 to hit $48.38 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.35% or 4.25 to trade at $1212.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.0608, while EUR/GBP fell 1.15% to 0.8493.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.32% at 101.09.
