Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Services and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae (LS:YSO), which rose 2.20% or 0.0200 points to trade at 0.9310 at the close. REN (LS:RENE) added 1.50% or 0.0430 points to end at 2.9190 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 1.43% or 0.0026 points to 0.1845 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS), which lost 1.55% or 0.0800 points to trade at 5.0900 in late trade. Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) declined 1.10% or 0.035 points to end at 3.160 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) shed 0.87% or 0.0440 points to 5.0310.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 17 to 16 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was up 0.99% or 0.54 to $54.90 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.06% or 0.54 to hit $51.69 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.49% or 6.15 to trade at $1254.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.11% to 1.0652, while EUR/GBP fell 0.08% to 0.8535.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 100.56.
