Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR), which rose 3.48% or 0.0960 points to trade at 2.8540 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 3.29% or 0.1130 points to end at 3.5500 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 1.29% or 0.0152 points to 1.1902 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which lost 2.88% or 0.0460 points to trade at 1.5510 in late trade. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 1.62% or 0.0030 points to end at 0.1820 and EDP (LS:EDP) shed 0.30% or 0.0080 points to 2.6920.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 21 to 21 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.10% or 0.05 to $49.00 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.10% or 0.05 to hit $47.99 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.39% or 4.65 to trade at $1183.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.06% to 1.0559, while EUR/GBP fell 0.14% to 0.8477.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 101.75.
