Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 3.05% or 0.0190 points to trade at 0.6420 at the close. Semapa (LS:SEM) added 1.33% or 0.1550 points to end at 11.8500 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was up 1.10% or 0.0020 points to 0.1840 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which lost 1.71% or 0.0300 points to trade at 1.7210 in late trade. REN (LS:RENE) declined 0.53% or 0.0140 points to end at 2.6230 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) shed 0.29% or 0.0190 points to 6.5470.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 29 to 16 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was down 1.46% or 0.72 to $48.73 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.15% or 0.54 to hit $46.44 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.56% or 7.45 to trade at $1319.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.1146, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.8518.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.51% at 96.02.
