Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Utilities and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which rose 2.13% or 0.128 points to trade at 6.128 at the close. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) added 1.80% or 0.1130 points to end at 6.4020 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was up 1.70% or 0.0300 points to 1.7950 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which lost 2.28% or 0.0150 points to trade at 0.6420 in late trade. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 2.16% or 0.0030 points to end at 0.1360 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) shed 2.02% or 0.0590 points to 2.8630.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 28 to 21 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was down 0.53% or 0.24 to $44.73 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.11% or 0.05 to hit $43.70 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.87% or 11.25 to trade at $1280.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1492, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.7932.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.27% at 93.27.
